Bill Woods

Bill Woods,age 78 of Talbott passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at Jefferson County Nursing Home. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of World War II, having received the purple heart while serving with the U. S. Army. He was retired rom the Jefferson County Emergency Medical Service after many years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elmore Woods; brothers, Jack Woods, Dude Marion Woods and Buddy Woods; and sisters, Mary Belle Southerland and Alice Woods. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edna Gilliam Woods of Talbott; sister, Marie West and husband Jim of Talbott and anna Mae Green and husband Ray of Talbott; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Reverend Tony Collins and many friends at the Jefferson County Nursing Home and Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2002 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tony Collins and Reverend Larry Dye officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2002 at the funeral home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 10:30 a.,. graveside service.
