Mrs. Beulah Viola Mae Branner Brooks, born October 9, 1927 in Dandridge, TN, was called home on Tuesday morning after a lengthy illness. She was the 3rd child of the late Roy Alfred Branner and Mary Evans Branner. Beulah was a member and attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in Kings Mtn, North Carolina. Before returning to Tennessee she worked for many years in Washington, DC in retail stores including McBride, Woodward and Lothrop, where she received many awards for her customer service skills.
She is preceded in death by her father, Roy Alfred Branner, and mother Mary Evans Branner; husband, John Brooks; a devoted nephew, the late Curtis Branner; sisters, Ruth and Margie Branner, Alice Thomas and Marline Gray; brothers, Roy Calvin and Charles Leonard Branner. She leaves to cherish her loving memory two brothers, Clinton Branner (Sarah) and Walter Branner both of Knoxville; three sisters, Kathleen Brown (Donald) of Strawberry Plains, Curley Ray and Christine Dockery, both of Jefferson City; several nieces, nephews and friends; special nieces, Janet Jackson of Temple Hill, Maryland and Brenda Swagerty of Newport and Gail Gray, caregiver; two devoted nephews, Ronald Thomas of Morristown and James Thomas Jr, of Baltimore, Maryland; two aunts, Eleanor Madison and Melmer Ray, both of Jefferson County; special friends, Ann Cox of Morristown and Janelle Carr of Newport. Funeral service will be held at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge on Friday, January 20, 2012. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00pm with the funeral to follow, Rev. Steve Simpson officiating. Graveside interment service will follow in Dandridge Memorial Gardens.
