Betty Walker, age 95, went to meet her Savior, Jesus, face to face on Thursday, January 9, 2025. She was born on July 25, 1929, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Carl and Lucille Sharp.
Betty was preceded in death by her brothers Jim and Bill Sharp. She was married for almost 70 years to the love of her life, JC Walker, who preceded her in death. Betty is survived by her daughter, Ginger (Mike) Johnson, and her son, Steve (Denise) Walker; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Philip) Testerman, Adam (Kelly) Johnson, Andrew (Kara) Walker, Sam (Allison) Walker; 10 great-grandchildren, Bella Testerman, Brooklyn Walker, Henry Walker, Hadley Johnson, Sawyer Kate Walker, Ella Gray Walker, Corbin Johnson, Remington Walker, Wesley Walker, and Genavieve Walker; special sister-in-law, Mary Ann Walker, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Betty graduated from Central High School in Knoxville. She was a devoted wife and mother who created a warm Christ-centered home for her family. Betty was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dandridge and the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. She was also a long-time member of the PEO. Her caring nature was evident in her love for others. She exemplified Philippians 2:3-4, always putting others first. Betty deeply enjoyed spending time with her family and would light up when seeing or talking to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She treasured reading her Bible with her husband and enjoyed trips to the beach, family games, golf, and cheering on the Vols. Betty had been looking forward to being with Jesus and her devoted\ husband in heaven.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24th, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Dandridge, Tennessee, with a time of fellowship afterward. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville at 3:00 PM.
