Betty Jo Rutherford

Betty McKay Rutherford, 89, a lifelong resident of Jefferson county, left this world to meet her Lord and Savior, on Friday, April 17, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Eunice McKay and her daughter, Sheri Jameson. She is survived by her daughter Debbie Batson, sisters Viola Mason, Sue McFalls, brother-in-law Jim McFalls and Charlotte McKay; son-in-law Steve Jameson; Grandchildren Brent Batson and Destiney, Brandon Batson and Katie, Kristin Jameson, and Ethan Jameson; Great granddaughters Sarah Batson, Avery Polk Batson, Isabella Batson and Ruby Batson. Betty was a hard worker and that included her many years of service in church, both French Broad Baptist and Swannsylvania Baptist Churches. She worked at Tennessee Handbags for many years. During that time, she raised a Christian family and that has continued through the generations. The family will hold a private graveside service on Tuesday, April 21st with the Rev. Mike Hensley officiating The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to: God's Willing Vessels, 921 Swannsylvania Rd., Dandridge, TN 37725. A very special thank you to SunCrest Hospice for all the care and love given to Betty.
