BETTY ROSE “NANA” CATE, age 58, went home to be with Our Lord on Tuesday morning, September 1, 2015 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was born and raised in the Dumplin Community of New Market, the daughter of the late Fern Cate. She was also preceded in death by her twin nieces, Sarah and Samantha Brooks, and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Billie and David Brooks and Charlotte and Kenny Bates; uncles and aunts, Don and Joanne Cate, Ray and Shirley Cate and Bonnie Monday; nephews and nieces, Richy Huffaker, Becky Miracle, Michelle Huffaker, Chelsey Boatman and special nephew, Colby Brooks who holds the key to his Nana’s heart. She also leaves behind, Chris Drinnen, Jason Morgan and the group at Supreme Towing; several cousins as well as a host of friends. Ms Betty never met a stranger; she was loved by all who got the privilege to know her. Betty’s final request “DRESS CASUAL”. A time of sharing will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015, 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home. Graveside funeral service will be Friday, 1:00pm at Cate Cemetery in Dumplin with Rev.
