Betty was born on May 9, 1940 in Jimtown, TN. There she learned her cooking and cleaning skills, which ultimately ended in her success of opening and running her own restaurant and club in Nashville, TN. Betty was a firm believer in the Lord and a faithful child of God. She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Robinson Branner; husband, Harold Parker; sons, Johnny Branner and Terrell Parker; brothers, James Branner and Richard Robinson. Survivors include children, Lois Jean Stephenson, Phillip Lee (Evelyn) Branner, Diane Carr, Dennie (Willie) Olden-Biddles and Timothy (Stacy) Moody; daughter-in-law, Tina Parker; brothers, Robert Branner and Bill Branner; sisters, Elizabeth Demus, Josephine (George) Allen, Mary Keys and Katherine Eskridge; sisters-in-law, Janie Robinson and Delores Branner; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and devoted friends, Janice Simpson, James Mondelli and Delores and Tony Eubanks. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Mike Branner, Rev. Jack McCarter and Rev. Troy Duncan officiating. Graveside interment service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Gum Springs Cemetery in Newport. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
