Betty Jean Denton Stipes

BETTY JEAN DENTON STIPES, age 79, 0f Dandridge, TN went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at her home. She was a faithful and active member of the French Broad Church of the Brethren, White Pine, TN for many years, where she served as Financial Secretary and Sunday school Treasurer, as well as other responsibilities. She loved serving the Lord. She graduated from Maury High School, Dandridge, TN and Andrew Jackson College, Nashville, TN. She retired from Burley Stabilization Corporation in 2003 after 45 years of dedicated service. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mae Denton; brother, Phillip Ray Denton; brother-in-law, Bob Stipes. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Bill Stipes; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Stacy Stipes, Stone Ridge, VA; brother, Bill (Joyce) Denton; sisters, Mary Denton, Marti (Larry) Elder, all of Dandridge, TN; Sue Denton, Knoxville, TN; sisters-in-law, Nancy Stipes, Knoxville, TN, and Portia Stipes of Corryton, TN; nieces and nephews, Diane (Jack) Quisenberry, David (Sharon) Denton, Luke (Kalynn) Quisenberry, Dustin (Robin) Mantooth, Mitchell Mantooth, Bobby, Kelly, Alisha and Keith Stipes; and many cousins. The family would like to express their profound gratitude to her caregivers, Jenny Yeary, Amanda Marsh, Gina Dean, Arista Metcalf, and Cynthia Mantooth with Amedisys Hospice Care. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge, TN. A celebration of her life will be held at the French Broad Church of the Brethren, White Pine, TN on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronald Wine officiating. Graveside services to follow at the church cemetery.
