BETTY JANE (GRIFFIN) HARDIN, born June 5, 1927, was called to her heavenly home on November 23, 2003 after a lingering illness. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of Strawberry Plains First Baptist Church and a retired employee of Magnavox. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lynn Griffin; sisters, Mildred Griffin, Edith Griffin, Clara Stair, Ruth Newman, Louise Cate, Helen Hayter; and brother, Robert Griffin. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Troy E. Hardin of the home; son, Robert Hardin, also of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Diane Hardin of Morristown; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jim Haggard of Morristown; grandchildren, Gary Hardin II of Columbia, South Carolina, Betsy Wolfe of Morristown and Mandy Haggard of Morristown; great grandchildren, Joel, Jacob and Gabrielle Hardin of Columbia, South Carolina and Kirk Wolfe of Morristown; sister, Mrs. W. M. (Rubye) Sams of Morristown; sister-in-law, Ruby Griffin of Strawberry Plains; brother-in-law, Jack Hayter of Morristown; several nieces, nephews and special friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Boatfield officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the funeral home to proceed to Trentville Cemetery for a 10:30 a.m. interment service. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Haggard, Gary Hardin II, Michael Watson, Craig Vineyard, Tommy Griffin, Donnie Davis, Jim Ogle and Jim Riley. Honorary pallbearers will be Kirk Wolfe, Joel, and Jacob Hardin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
