She was a beautiful, loving, caring and devoted mother, who loved and cared for so many people. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Claiborne County. Even through to the end of a long and difficult illness, she remained more concerned about her family and friends than herself. She wished often that she had the voice to sing out in church, and she now surely is singing God's praises in heaven this day. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Watson; father, Porter Thacker; sister, Marlene Williams; grandmother, Catherine Hipsher. She is survived by her husband, Doug Cameron; sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Lori Watson of Rutledge, Steve and Dawn Cameron of Rutledge; mother, Arah Thacker of Rutledge; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jean Thacker of Rutledge; brothers, Bob Thacker of Rutledge and Jack Thacker of Maynardville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend J. W. Taylor and Reverend James McCann officiating. Family and friends will gather at 1:45 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2007 at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Claiborne County for a 2:00 p.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
