Betty Burchell

BETTY BURCHELL, age 87, of Talbott, TN passed away Friday morning, March 14, 2014 at her home after a lingering illness. She was a member of Magna View Baptist Church and retired from Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was a loving mother making her family and friends her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Burchell; parents, James and Carrie Raby; sisters, Maymie Seiber, Almeta Sumner, Margaret Hobbs, Bessie Knisley, Wilma Scarbrough, Josephine Raby; brothers, James, Leon, Don and Gene Raby. She is survived by children, Phyllis Duckworth (caregiver), Dennis (Cathy) Burchell, Vickie (Roy) Slagle; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Geneva Raby and Nina Raby; several nieces, nephews and many other friends and loved ones. The family would like to thank the Amedysis Hospice staff for their loving care. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home with Reverend George Miller and Chaplain Garland Long officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at Eastview Memorial Gardens in Strawberry Plains at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
