Hanmore, age 79 of Jefferson City, TN passed away 12:55 p.m., March 5, 2005 at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. She was the daughter of Otis V. and Elizabeth Martin Guilfoil. She was Born December 10, 1925 in Newburgh, NY and was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Louis F. Hanmore. Together Louis and Bette owned and operated Hoffman?s Stationery on Liberty Street in Newburgh, NY, and Hanmore?s Cards ?N?Candy, which was one of the first Hallmark stores in the area, located in the Mid Valley Mall. Bette was active in several civic groups, including Junior League of Newburgh, and Opti-Mrs. She was also a member of the Powelton Club. She was a graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga, NY where she majored in Sociology. Bette relocated to California in 1984 and resided n Laguna Hills. In 1993 she married Jerome Kastel and they remained there until his death in July 2000. Most recently, she resided in Life Care Center of Jefferson City, following a move to Tennessee in 2000.
