Bernice May

BERNICE MAY, age 92, of Jefferson City, TN went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2016 at the Jefferson County Nursing Home. She was an honorary member of Buffalo Grove Baptist Church and retired from Magnavox in Jefferson City. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Minnie May; brothers, Roy "Buster" May, James "Jabo" May, Albert May; sister, Edna Martin. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Alta Ruth and Charles Whitaker; sister-in-law, Wilma May; special aunt, Malissa Thompson; nieces, Jean Smith, Sarah Kinkead, Lois Carmon, Ann Jones, Aldris Kerr, Vickie Jordan; nephews, Jim May, Ronnie Martin, Bill May, Joe May; nineteen great nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Jefferson County Nursing Home and Smoky Mountain Hospice for her care. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. John Pinkston and Pastor Corey Jones officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buffalo Grove Baptist Church, 1137 Buffalo Road, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
