Becky Millen, age 70, passed away on May 13, 2022, unexpectedly. Born in Los Angeles, California to Haskell Bull (deceased) and Bettie "Meyer" Bull (deceased), Becky has lived in California, Texas, and during these later years in Jefferson City, TN. The second oldest of five children and the oldest daughter, Becky helped raised her younger siblings while growing up. She is preceded in death by husband, Theodore Millen, older brother, Jerry Bull, younger brother, Kent Bull ,and younger sister, Lori (Jeff) Dodds. She is survived by her three sons: Jason (Ana) Buckner, Jeremy Buckner, and Joshua (Amanda) Millen; her younger brother, David (Tracy) Bull; and granddaughter Kaylee Reese. Becky often recounted stories of growing up in the desert in southern California in which she and older brother, Jerry, would hike the desert building forts and stockpiling with supplies. With her family's relocation to Amarillo, TX in her early teenage years, Becky finished school and started raising her own family. No stranger to hard work and discipline, Becky made a good home working inside and out to ensure that all the needs were met. An avid reader and lover of music, Becky enjoyed spending quiet afternoons on the weekend in a book or listening to music while she relaxed. She eventually went on to college while working full-time, making a home, and raising her sons. After earning her Bachelor's in History, Becky began looking for work in higher education. She began working in the Alternative Energy Institute of her Alma Mater, West Texas A&M. Afterwards, she relocated back to California with her husband and youngest son. She later went on to work in administration serving as VP for Admissions and Records at Victor Valley Community College and finally Associate Registrar at The Claremont Colleges before retiring in 2007. Becky loved her family and friends. She kept in touch with her loved ones often sending cards at birthdays and presents for Christmas. She will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any gifts for Becky be made in her honor to those organizations she supported in life: Carson-Newman University, Appalachian Ministry of the Smokies, local PBS, First United Methodist Church, Morristown, TN; Lakeway Presbyterian Church, Morristown, TN; the local library, and public good institutions such as these. Receiving of friends will begin at 4:00pm Friday, May 27th in the Thomas Recital Hall (Tarr Music Center) at Carson-Newman University, Jefferson City, TN with a service to follow at 5:30pm.
