BARRY HILL, of Dandridge, TN died on May 25, 2017 at the age of 70. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dandridge. He is a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam era. He retired from the Knoxville Police Department after 31 years of service. Later he worked for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Barry enjoyed golfing, hunting, boating, fishing, motorcycle riding and old cars, but most of all he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Hill and Muriel Segaser, and step-father, Charlie Segaser. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Benita Tipton Hill; daughter, Jenny Hill; grandsons, Aaron Qualls and D. J. Inman; granddaughter, Destiny Inman; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Gail Hill; uncle, many cousins, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Smoky Mountain Hospice for being there for him. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Dandridge. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Chaplain Pam Neal officiating. Family and friends will gather at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge to proceed to Oak Ridge Memorial Park for a 2:00 p.m. graveside interment service with honors by the Knoxville Police Department.
