Barry Gordon Babcock

BARRY GORDON BABCOCK, age 63, of Dandridge, TN and formerly of Wolverine, MI, passed away on June 11, 2011 at Morristown Hamblen Health Care. He was born December 24, 1947 to Gordon and Reva Babcock in Cheboygan, Michigan. Barry is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Babcock and his eldest son, David Earl Babcock. He is survived by his wife, Alberta Babcock. They were married on September 14, 1985 in Belleville, Michigan and shared 30 wonderful years together. Barry is also survived by his other seven children: Wanda Babcock and her husband Richard Babcock of Wolverine, MI, Denise Goddard and husband Larry Goddard, Jr. of Wolverine, MI, Dennis Henry Herman, Jr. and wife Manessa Diane Herman of Dandridge, TN, Wayne Karl Babcock of Ontario, Canada, Sarah Heather Babcock of Ontario, Canada, Nellie Marie McCaffrey and husband Steve McCaffrey of Westland, MI, Keith Allen Babcock of Ontario, Canada; mother, Reva Pauline Jones Babcock of Dandridge, TN; brother, Larry Babcock of Ann Arbor, MI; sister, Marybeth Palmer of Wolverine, MI; and brother, Gary Babcock of Wolverine, MI. Barry has ten grandchildren, Alaina Babcock, Shawna Babcock, Dickie Babcock, Amber Goddard, Wayne Goddard, Justine Babcock, all of Wolverine, MI, Christian and Kyle McCaffrey of Westland, MI, and Dennis and Whisper Herman of Dandridge, TN. Barry retired from General Motors in Ypsilanti, Michigan in 1985 after a fall off of a roof. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, along with his garden every year. Barry loved his children and grandbabies so much. He will be deeply missed. Barry is with God now, in the best place, walking with the Lord. We love and miss you so much Barry. A memorial service celebrating the life of Barry G. Babcock will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel.
