Barbara Hill Hodges

BARBARA HILL HODGES, age 82, of New Market, TN, departed this life surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 13, 2011, after a brief illness at home. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on June 24, 1929, to Frank E. and Carrie Hill. Barbara was a member of Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church, where she served as their organist for many years. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Noe M. Hodges of New Market, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Karol Hodges of Tucson, Arizona; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Bill Thompson of Alcoa, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Kim Hodges of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee; and daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Chris Land of Chapin, South Carolina. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin, Will, Candace, Andrew, Mallie, Karie, Jessica, Nicholas and Weston; and two great-grandchildren, Allison and Andrew. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. with services immediately following at Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W. Broadway Blvd., Jefferson City, TN with Reverend Dennis Maxey officiating. Graveside interment service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning, November 17, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church, 3168 W. Old Andrew Johnson Highway, Strawberry Plains, Tennessee 37871 in Barbara?s memory.
