Barbara A. Hinchey

Barbara A. Hinchey, age 73 of Jefferson City, TN passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Life Care of Jefferson City following a brief illness. She was a member of Flat Gap Baptist Church. After graduating from Carson Newman College she taught school in Coco Beach, FL for five years then in Knoxville at Mt. Olive Elementary School for 42 years until her retirement in 2012. There she received Teacher of the Year in 2004 and 2007. Preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Juanita Hill Hinchey; nephew, Stuart Hinchey of TX. Survived by brothers, James (Lura) Hinchey of Jefferson City, Frank (Jane) Hinchey of Keller, TX; nephews, Steven (Karen) Hinchey of Keller, TX, James Hinchey, Jr. of Winter Park, FL; niece, Sharon Hinchey (Kent) Knechtel of Edmonds, WA. Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City with Dr. Gene Wilder officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 for a 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service at Westview Cemetery.
