Barbara Hall Horner, 77, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. Born on June 1, 1947, in Chestnut Hill, Barbara dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband of 49 years, Carroll, and their daughter Mary Carol.
Barbara’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving and orderly home. God broke the mold when he created this classy, sassy, bold and loving lady.
Barbara was saved at a young age and attended Bogard’s Chapel as a child with her family. She was a dedicated Christian lady with a deep and trusting faith in her Heavenly Father. Barbara was a devoted member of Leadvale Missionary Baptist church until her health kept her from attending. She always trusted that Jesus had her safe in his loving arms where she will be found for eternity.
Barbara was preceded in death by the love of her life for 49 years Carroll Horner and her parents John and Mary Nell Hall. She is survived by her Daughter Mary Carol Hazelwood (Mark), grandchildren Joshua Hazelwood (Makayla) and Caroline Griffin (Tommy). Barbara was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first great grandchild, Elliott Hazelwood, within the next couple of weeks. She is also survived by siblings John Hall (Glenda), Brenda Saffles (Jim), and Jerry Hall (Gena) along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a graveside service on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 11:00am in White Pine Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff and friends at TerraBella Assisted Living for their loving care and service to Barbara. A special thank you goes to Gentiva Hospice as well.
