Arthur Ray Skiles

ARTHUR RAY SKILES, age 75, of Morristown, TN passed away peacefully in his sleep at home Sunday, January 18, 2009 after a battle with cancer. He retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1972, and then went to work in logistics as a civilian for the Air Force. He was an active member of the Lion?s Club, First Baptist Church of Morristown, and the Masonic Lodge. He also volunteered at the Senior Center, and was always very active in the community. Before moving to Tennessee in 2003 from Oklahoma, Arthur was a volunteer for C.A.S.A. and Boy Scouts. Always selfless and caring, he will be greatly missed. Arthur was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his son Ralph. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Faye Skiles; sisters, Barbara Estep and Mary Javins; brothers, Jim Javins and Wayne Javins; sons, Dustin Skiles and Gary Skiles; daughter-in-law, Breana Skiles; and grandson, Chris Skiles; very special friends, Richard and Barbara Schiver; plus a lifetime full of very close friends. Friends and family can say their goodbyes from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Morristown, TN on Wednesday, January 21, 2009. The funeral service will be begin at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Danny Georges officiating. Interment will follow the service at Jarnigan Cemetery. Friends may also call at their convenience from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City.
