Arthur M. "Poppa" Rimmer

Arthur M. "Poppa" Rimmer,age 66 of Dandridge, Tn died Monday, March 17, 2003 as a result of lung cancer. He was an adored husband, father and friend. Son of the late Albert and Rose Martin Rimmer,he was preceded in death by his son, Arthur M. Rimmer, Jr. (1976). He was a graduate of Jefferson High School Class of 1954 and was a former truck driver for Bush Bros. and Co., Tennessee Handbags and Coleman Custom Services of Casper, WY and returned to Dandridge and worked for many years as security guard for the Jefferson County High School. Member of the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Sasser Rimmer of Dandridge; son, Joseph S. Rimmer and wife, Susan of Dandridge; daughter, Suzanne Rimmer Holmes and husband, Alan of Maryville; grandchildren, Stephen Jay and Will Rimmer, Wes and Brad Holmes, delaney and Jack McReynolds and their father, Dana McReynolds; and all the special family and friends who supported him for the last three years. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Jerry Foster, who gave us three wonderful years with our dad; in addition to his efforts a special thanks to his staff, expecially his "girls", Bess Ann and Cindi for all their kind loving care. Graveside funeral services, Thursday, 4 p.m. at Balch Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Chambers and Guy Huff delivering the eulogy.
