Arnold Earl Workman, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

Born February 9, 1941 in Jochin, West Virginia, Arnold was a graduate of Clear Fork High School. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, a former pastor of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, and later worked as a manager of numerous construction projects. He will be lovingly remembered by many as “Pa”, a name which was originally given him by his eldest grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Russell Workman & Meda Marie Phillips Workman; brothers, Bob Workman & Donald Workman; sisters, Vera Hendricks & Deanna Register. He is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Burl) Smelcer; son, Mark (Leigh) Workman; grandsons, Tyler (Autumn) Smelcer, Eric Smelcer, & Reece Workman; and great-grandson, Hayden Smelcer.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staff at Jefferson Park of Dandridge & White Pine for several years of compassionate care.

Per his request, Arnold’s family will hold a private gathering to celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to the veterans’ charity of your choice.
