She was born June 16, 1932 in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, to the late Robert E. Farmer and Katharine Watson Farmer. She was a graduate of Cocke County High School in Newport, TN and a 1954 graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, with a bachelor of science degree in home economics. Member of First Baptist Church in Jefferson City, TN where she was a deacon and a member of the choir. She was an active church member throughtout her life, including Baptist Student Union in college, where she met her future husband, and serving as a Women?s Missionary Union director, choir member, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and in many other positions and activities at First Baptist Church of Desloge, MO, First Baptist Church of Viburnum, MO, and First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, TN. She was a member of the Viburnum, MO School Board for six years, serving as president. Survivors include her husband, Harold E. Myers, whom she married August 10, 1954, in Newport, TN; four children, Michael (Anne Michelle) Myers of St. Louis, MO, Russell (Marian) Myers of Newport, TN; Connie Myers of Berkeley, CA, and Robert (Lisa) Myers of Newport, TN; brother, Robert Farmer of Cleveland, OH; sister, Elizabeth Jones of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren, Melissa Myers, Robert Myers, Jeanne Myers, David Myers and Allyson Myers. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at First Baptist Church of Jefferson City with Dr. Gene Wilder, Reverend Jim Dampier and Mr. Robert Myers officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Baptist Student Ministries Summer Missionary Fund, 1811 Melrose Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916, or First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, 1610 Russell Ave., Jefferson City, TN 37760.
