Anna Laura Walker Tucker, age 83, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Dec.28, 2013 at her home in Morristown. She professed faith in Jesus at an early age and was a member of Morningside Missionary Baptist Church since the early 1960s.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, John Leaper Tucker, who died in 1985. Also preceding her were her father, Frank William Walker, and mother, Minerva Aileen Leeper Walker Bacon Lively; two brothers, Joseph Robert Walker and Lynn Weesner Walker; and two siblings who died in childhood.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tammie (Kenneth) Olaker of Dandridge; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth (Joseph Jr.) Watkins; and brothers and sisters-in-law, James Edward (Grace) Walker and John T. (Kathy) Walker all of Morristown. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Kay Walker of Morristown and Janice Walker of Chattanooga; and several nieces, nephews and very dear friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Morningside Missionary Baptist Church in Morristown from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 8, with the church pastor, the Rev. Ross Woody, officiating.
Family and friends will meet Friday Jan.3, 2014, at Hamblen Memory Gardens for the interment at 11 a.m.
