Alvin E. Murphy

ALVIN E. MURPHY, age 77, of New Market, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, December 05, 2003. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was of the Methodist faith. He was employed as manager of Tennessee Flooring Company in Knoxville, A. J. King Lumber Co. and Activated Metals in Sevierville, and was co-founder of Cedar Rock Farm in New Market, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by daughter, Rebecca Rena?; parents, Ernest Stanley and Sara Edna Murphy; brothers, C. L. Murphy and Ernest Murphy, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Bull Murphy; sons and daughters-in law, Ed and Linda Murphy, Stanley and Robin Murphy; grandchildren, Justin, Alicia, Rebecca, Stanley, Jr., and Shane; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford and Juanita Murphy, Berlon and Wanda Murphy, Reed and Lois Murphy of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2003 at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville with Reverend Daris Doyle officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2003 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City.
