He retired from Irwin Seating of Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1999 after which he relocated to White Pine, TN. He also had 20 years of service in wood finish repair with Bergsma Brothers of Grand Rapids. He was a member of IUE Union, Local 415 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in math. Preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Anne Holtrop. Survived by wife, Madelene Liner Holtrop; son, Dewayne Mease of Grand Rapids, MI; daughter, Susan Billock of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Andrew, Alan and Zachery Mease; Jennifer Billock; great grandson, Drew David Mease; brothers, James Holtrop and Lee Sidney Holtrop, both of Grand Rapids, Tennessee brothers, Grover Liner, Larry Liner, Harry Liner, Sidney Liner and George Liner; Tennessee sister, Iva McCarter; several nieces and nephews of Tennessee and Michigan. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2006 at the Farrar White Pine Chapel with Reverend George Askew officiating. Entombment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the funeral home.
