Alice Hawkins Newman

ALICE HAWKINS NEWMAN, born September 2, 1913 passed away Monday, August 4, 2008 at her residence following an extended illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, member of the Eastern Star, and was a avid bridge and game enthusiast who loved to travel and to cook. Preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Newman, Sr.; parents, William and Dena Hawkins; sister, Ora Lee Dykes; brothers, Ruel, Horace (Hawk), William (Billy), Evan and Cecil Hawkins. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Jill Newman of New Market, Bill and Susan Newman of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Ed Newman of Knoxville, Susan Huntsinger of Knoxville and Will Newman of New Market, Andrew Newman of Jefferson City; great grandchildren, Julia Newman, Jack Newman, Harrison Huntsinger, Hudson Huntsinger, John-Willis Newman, Emmitt Newman; sister, Ellen Schettler of Jefferson City; brother, John V. Hawkins of Mascot, TN; special friend and companion, Barbara Murphy; nieces and nephews, Theresa and Libby Dean, H. C. and Buddy; in-laws, Pearl, Rita and Ray Allen. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2008 at Westview Cemetery with Rev. Jim Dampier and Robbie Pinkerton officiating.
