ALGER CURTIS "CURT" MOORE, age 88, of Dandridge, TN passed away Thursday morning, July 8, 2010. He was born and raised in the Sandy Ridge Community of Dandridge, the son of the late John L. and Elizabeth Moore, Sr. Preceded in death by his sister, Grace Eslinger; brothers,his twin, Claude Moore, and John L. "Bill" Moore, Jr. He was a long time employee of Snyder Motors of Knoxville and retired from Harper Volkswagon. Curt was a veteran of the U. S. Army and World War II, a member of the Dandridge V. F. W. Post # 3380, a long-time member of the Jefferson County Rescue Squad, and attended Hills Union United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mildred Burgin Moore; nieces, Mary Sue Purkey of Morristown and Libby Moore of Dandridge; nephew, James Donald Eslinger of Dandridge; brothers-in-law, Don (Carolyn) Burgin of London, KY and Turney Eslinger of Dandridge; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Johnny) Carmichael of White Pine. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Hills Union United Methodist Church with Rev. Alfred Newman, Rev. Mike Ladd and Bro. Frankie Edmonds officiating. Interment to follow with military honors at Hills Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge, TN
