Alex Allen Phipps Sr.

Reverend Alex Phipps, Sr., of New Market, TN was called to be home with Jesus on December 11, 2022 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 15, 1954 at Jefferson Memorial in Jefferson City, TN. He was united in marriage to his devoted wife, Connie on December 29, 1995. Reverend Phipps was a devoted faithful member at Youngs Memorial AME Zion Church. He served on the following boards: Men's Booster Ministry, Evangelistic Ministry, Pastors Appreciation, Social Service and Political Action and State of Church, and District Studies. He completed all his conference studies and served as a pastor for 13 years at Belmont AME Zion Church in Dandridge TN, and at Young's Temple AME Zion Church in Morristown, TN for 3 years. Reverend Alex Phipps, Sr. is preceded in death by his father, Harry Phipps, Sr.; his sons, Anthony Dean Phipps and Kye Allen Phipps; his daughter, Kiona Michelle Phipps; grandmothers, Gertrude Sheets and Annie K Phipps; grandfather, Harry C. Phipps. Sr.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his sweet memories his wife, Connie Phipps; children, Jana Thomas (Robert), Alex Phipps Jr., Rodney Phipps (Amie), Connellia Norris, Kayla Noriega (Jorge), Caleb Phipps (Catie), Cameron Phipps, Kiarra Phipps, Keane Phipps, Caden Phipps, Keaton Phipps; mother, Mary Phipps; siblings, Mary Ann Thomas (Tommy), Kenny Phipps; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 12pm to 1pm on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Farrar Funeral Home (411 West Broadway Blvd, Jefferson City, Tn 37760) Funeral service will begin at 1pm.
