REV. ALBERT T. COOK, of Strawberry Plains, TN, celebrated his 90th birthday on April 7, 2012. He and Helen Cook celebrated 71 years of marriage on July 30, 2012. He went to a better place ? Heaven- on September 9, 2012. We didn?t want him to go, but we?ll see him again. He was a running back for Farragut and New Market High School, retired from U. S. Steel, and was pastor of Liberty Church of God for over 20 years. His passion was farming and gardening. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Dean Cook; parents, Jennie Lawson Cook and Arbra Cook; brothers, Andrew Cook, Ed Cook and Orville Cook; mother-in-law, Ellie Brooks; father-in-law, William Brooks; and many close friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Brooks Cook; daughter, Betty Cook Solomon Samples and son-in-law, Aubrey Samples of Knoxville; grandsons, Stacy Solomon of Savannah, GA, Marty Solomon and wife, Michele Solomon, and great-grandson, Elijah Solomon, all of Knoxville; step-grandchildren, Terri Samples Maples and husband Rick, Patti Samples Westbrooke; step-great-grandchildren, Sarah Dockins and Kaylee Westbrooke; his beloved sister-in-law, Ruby Brooks Watkins and husband Bob; sister-in-law, Kate Cook; nephews, Jack Cook and wife Judy, Ronald Cook and wife Hedy, Jimmy Cook; nieces, Gracie Cook Johnson, Brenda Williams, Patsy Evans, Faye Evans; and many other relatives. Special appreciation to caregivers, Jane, Mary Alice, Terri, Jenny, Darlene, Bob and Ruby, and to Smoky Mountain Hospice of Knoxville, TN. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City with Rev. Jack Cook officiating and special music by Stacy Solomon and Melanie Lee. Graveside interment service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Piney Grove Cemetery with Rev. King officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday.
