Alan Palmieri passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was a long serving political/business leader in Jefferson City. He served as mayor of Jefferson City for five terms. A City Council member for one partial term vacating his position to run for, elected and served as mayor of Jefferson County for three terms. As a business leader he was employed by Magnavox, later North American Phillips in various management positions for twenty-one years. He left to establish Palmieri Health & Fitness Center, which was known for being one of the premier health, fitness and bodybuilding facilities in the country. He later was owner/principal of Palmieri Consulting which provided domestic and international services to public and government entities in domestic and international fields. Preceded in death by his father, Angelo Salvator Palmieri. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rhea Palmieri; mother, Adele Setnick Palmieri; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Scott Winstead; son, Michael Palmieri and special friend, David Harrison; grandson, Aaron Winstead; granddaughter and husband, Shelby and Michael Seals; great-grandchildren, Malaki Winstead-Cloey, Lily Seals and Beckham Winstead; brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Forrest Palmieri; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Cecil Holdway. Alan has wished for no public gathering and only to have a priest and minister say words during a private gathering of the family. He wants his family, loved ones, and friends to know he was only human and tried to do the best he could. He felt blessed to have the life he did and carried his regrets with him knowing life is hard and humans are not perfect. He battled depression and doubt but always had faith in God. Instead of flowers and gifts he has requested donations be provided to St Jude Children’s Hospital. For family and friends who think about Alan’s musical taste which was diverse and broad, the following have meaning of his passing: I Did it My Way, It Is Finished, Don’t Let the Old Man In, Help is on the Way, and God on the Mountain.
